Acoustic Music

You don’t play around. You know what you like and you don’t wanna wait around for it. You don’t want ones and zeros getting in between you and your feelings.

You know, it’s funny how time can be. One day, you’re slaving away at your masterpiece in a converted bathroom in industrial Brooklyn and the next thing you know, it’s 2020, a virus has changed social life as we know it, and you forgot to release the album that you worked on for a year and thought would be your big break. Guess it’s always good to remember that priorities change. This record does contain one of my personal favorites, “I Don’t Even Know You.”

Vida Mala is an atomic smash of jazz and rock and Marc Ribot. Most of the guitar heard on this record is one that I build back in ‘16. It’s a hell of a hound to keep from bucking but I’ve got a Stewart MacDonald bucking my hum from up by the neck. Take a laid back sip of your favorite beverage and think about the lower east side in the seventies.
